The active output counts from 0 to 9. In this circuit, when it reaches 1 OR 2 OR 5, the buzzer will sound. The OR gates achieve this.

This shows how OR gates can be used to control an event such as a buzz which repeats at specified time intervals.
A MOSFET driver is needed between the OR gates and the buzzer or other device.
Some OR gates can not drive the MOSFET and the LED at the same time. Just remove the LED from the circuit.
