Measure Multimeter |
|
All multimeters measure Voltage, Current and Resistance. High end models can measure frequency and test components.
Set the meter to the VOLTS range and connect the meter in PARALLEL with the component to be measured.
If in doubt, use the highest voltage setting and reduce it after switching on.
Set the meter to the Amps range. Connect the meter in SERIES with the circuit being measured.
If in doubt, use the highest current range and reduce it after switching on.
To measure current, the current must flow through the ammeter.
YOU MOST CONNECT THE METRE IN SERIES or you will destroy the meter or blow its fuse.
Set the meter to the Ohms range.
Remove the resistor from its circuit before measuring it.
