Bigger capacitors can store a LOT of energy. Released suddenly, this can be expolsive.

Incorrrectly wired electrolytic capacitors can explode.

Four power station grade capacitors store a LOT of energy.

E = 0.5 C V 2

A bigger capacitor stores more energy but 10 times the voltage gives 10 x 10 times the energy. For the biggest bang, use a lot of volts.

Working with large, high voltage capacitors can be dangerous and special training is needed.
